1. Two Different Roles, and Why It Matters
Objectionly, Inc. (“Objectionly,” “we,” “us”) handles personal information in two very different ways, and this policy is organized around that difference.
- Information we handle for ourselves. This covers people who visit objectionly.com, request a demo, subscribe to our emails, contact support, or administer a customer account. We decide how that information is used, and Sections 3 through 12 of this policy describe it.
- Information we handle for our customers. Our platform analyzes recordings and transcripts of sales calls that our customers upload. Our customers decide what is recorded, who is recorded, what is uploaded, and how long it is kept. We process that content on their instructions and for no other purpose. Section 2 explains what that means for you.
2. If You Were on a Recorded Sales Call
If a business recorded a call with you and uploaded it to Objectionly, we process that recording only on that company’s instructions. We are its service provider. We do not decide what to do with your information, we do not use it for our own purposes, and we do not sell it.
The company that recorded the call is the right place to direct any question about why it was recorded, what consent it obtained, how long it keeps the recording, or a request to access or delete it. If you contact us instead, we will tell you to contact that company, and we will pass your request to it. We are generally not able to identify which of our customers holds a recording of you without information from you that would itself be more intrusive to collect.
Where a customer is a healthcare provider, health plan, or insurance seller and the recording contains health information, we handle it under a business associate agreement with that customer, and that customer’s notice of privacy practices governs, not this policy.
3. What We Collect About You Directly
The table below describes the categories of personal information we collect when you deal with us directly.
| Category | Examples | Where it comes from | Why we use it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Contact and identifiers | Name, business email, phone number, company name, job title | You, when you fill in a form, request a demo, or email us | Responding to you, sales, sending materials you asked for |
| Account information | Login credentials, role and permissions, organization membership, authentication events | You and your employer, when an account is created | Providing and securing the platform, support |
| Billing information | Billing contact, billing address, invoice and payment records | You, and our payment processor | Billing and collections, tax and accounting records |
| Support correspondence | Messages you send us in chat or by email, and our replies | You | Answering your question and improving support |
| Usage and device information | Pages viewed, features used, approximate location from IP address, browser and device type | Automatically, through our website and platform | Operating and improving the product, security, analytics |
We do not ask for, and do not want, sensitive personal information through our website or support channels. Do not send us health information, Social Security numbers, financial account numbers, or government identification numbers.
4. How We Use Information
- To provide, secure, support, and improve the platform and our website.
- To respond to demo requests, questions, and support conversations.
- To bill customers and collect payment.
- To send marketing about our products, which you can stop at any time.
- To detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
- To comply with law and to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
We do not use the contents of customer calls, transcripts, or analysis results for our own marketing, and we never include them in marketing or promotional material.
5. Artificial Intelligence and Model Training
We do not use customer data to train, fine-tune, or improve any generally available artificial intelligence model, and our artificial intelligence vendors are contractually prohibited from doing so. We use customer data to configure and improve the service for that customer.
We may create aggregated, de-identified statistics that combine information across customers and that do not identify any customer, any user, or any person on a call. We do not create or use aggregated or de-identified data derived from protected health information, and we exclude the data of customers who have signed a business associate agreement with us from aggregation.
6. Voice and Biometric Information
We do not create, store, or match voiceprints or other biometric identifiers, and we do not use voice characteristics to identify anyone. Our platform separates speakers in a recording and labels them in the transcript, for example as Speaker A and Speaker B, but it does not build a voice template and does not match voices across recordings. Any simulated voices used in our roleplay and training features are synthetic and are not derived from any real person on a call.
7. Who We Share Information With
We share personal information with service providers who help us run our business, each of which is bound by contract to protect it and to use it only for the services they provide to us. Our current service providers, and what each one handles, are listed in our Subprocessor Schedule, available on request. We have a business associate agreement with every vendor that handles customer call content.
The vendors that handle information we collect directly from you are:
| Vendor | What it does for us | What it handles |
|---|---|---|
| Clerk | Authentication and identity | Account and login information. No call content. |
| Stripe | Payment processing | Billing contact and payment details. No call content. |
| Intercom | Support chat and email | Your support messages and contact details. No call content. |
| PostHog | Product analytics | Usage and device information. Session replay is disabled and masked. No call content. |
| [Website and marketing vendors] | [Website hosting, tag management, web analytics, email marketing] | [Usage and device information, marketing contact details] |
We also share information when we are required to by law or legal process, to protect our rights or the safety of others, and in connection with a merger, financing, or sale of our business, in which case the recipient remains bound by this policy for information it receives.
8. Selling, Sharing, and Advertising
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not use personal information for targeted advertising or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
9. How Long We Keep Information
Customer content, meaning recordings, transcripts, and analysis results, is kept for as long as the customer’s subscription is active, and is deleted within 30 days after the subscription ends or after the customer asks us in writing to delete it, including copies held by our vendors. Customers can export their data during the subscription and for 15 days after it ends.
Information we collect directly from you is kept for as long as your organization has an account with us or, if you have no account, as long as we need it to respond to you and to stay in touch about our products, and longer where we need it to comply with law, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements. Routine backups are deleted as they age out and are not restored to ordinary use.
10. Where Information Is Processed
We and our vendors process and store information in the United States. We will not move customer content outside the United States without notifying the customer first.
11. Security
We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit and at rest, role-based access and least privilege, unique user identification, audit logging of access, separation of each customer’s data, secure development and vulnerability management, workforce confidentiality obligations and security training, and a documented incident response process. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee that information will never be accessed without authorization.
12. Your Choices and Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to get a copy of it, to correct it, to delete it, and to opt out of certain uses. You may also have the right to appeal if we refuse a request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
To make a request, email us at team@objectionly.com. We will verify your identity before responding, usually by asking you to confirm information we already hold. You may use an authorized agent where the law allows, and we may ask for proof of their authority.
If your request concerns a recording of a call you were on, send it to the business that recorded the call. See Section 2.
13. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies on our website to keep it working, remember your preferences, and understand how it is used. [You can manage non-essential cookies through the banner on our site or through your browser settings.]
14. Children
Our website and platform are for business use. They are not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Our customer agreement also prohibits customers from uploading recordings of calls they know involved someone under 18.
15. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date above shows when it last changed. If we make a material change, we will provide notice through the website or by email. Changes to this policy do not change any signed agreement between Objectionly and a customer.
